Ontario Chamber of Commerce Launches Mining 2030 Report
Black Diamond Drilling Tools Canada was pleased to attend the local launch event for Mining 2030: Unearthing Ontario’s Potential, hosted in Greater Sudbury and centered on the future growth of Ontario’s mining sector and the broader ecosystem supporting it.
Developed by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC), the Mining 2030 report examines the scale of opportunity emerging across Ontario’s mining industry and highlights the importance of long-term coordination between industry, Indigenous communities, government, infrastructure, and supply chains to support sustainable project development.
With the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce hosting the local event, the discussion reinforced Sudbury’s continued importance as one of the key mining and mining supply hubs in Ontario and Canada.
Strengthening Ontario’s Mining Supply & Services Ecosystem
A key theme throughout the event was the growing need for stronger collaboration across the mining sector — particularly between mining companies, Indigenous partners, local businesses, suppliers, and industry organizations.
The report emphasized that Ontario’s mining economy is approaching $24 billion in value, with long-term success closely tied to the strength, coordination, and innovation of Ontario’s mining supply and services network.
The event also highlighted the work being done by organizations such as MineConnect, which continues advocating for Ontario’s mining supply and services sector both provincially and nationally. It was great connecting with MineConnect members, mining industry partners, and supplier organizations throughout the event, including representatives from across Ontario’s mining supply and services network.
